So what is there to know about fast swimmers? Well, for one thing, even the fastest swimmers in the world doesn’t stand a chance at keeping up with most animals that live in the water. In fact, the only critter they mention that a human could hope to beat in a race is a whirlgig beetle, which is only about 6 mm long and travels at 1.44 meters per second, which means most of us still couldn’t keep up with him. As someone who can only swim remotely well while doggy paddling, I’d have a hard time beating anything in a swimming race -other than maybe a peice of coral.
